Chris Dale - Author

Chris Dale was born in January 1954 in Lima, Peru. He came to the UK in 1964 for a private school education, spent five years at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, and finished his education in France. He built his life skill experiences through a varied career in aviation, the travel business, and then in brand management in the food & brewery markets through the retail food industry. In 2004 he set up his own Management Consultancy business working in these markets specialising in launching and managing several different brand products. At the same time, as an aviation nut and a private pilot himself, he set up The POM Flying Club at Humberside Airport, which he still owns and runs today.

In July 2014 Chris suffered a major stroke which forced an early semi-retirement from the business world, and a total change of direction. The upside of the stroke has created his joy of writing his books, with many more to come. He now spends his time writing and managing his books as an indie author; managing his beloved flying school as a hobby, and does some voluntary work locally.

THE TEAM
John Kain - Proof-reader John is one of my oldest friends. We met when I was 17 and we are godfather to each other's eldest daughters. We are connected through his dear wife, now sadly deceased, who was a true Peruvian and where our connection commenced. John held a number of very senior positions in the international travel trade, so he is used to proofreading every fine detail of a travel brochure. He is now semi-retired and splits his time between Spain and the UK, tirelessly proofreading my books for me.
Susie Ryder - Editor Susie started editing my books from Two Metres Apart and has helped make my books the best they can possibly be, without losing their unique essence or, vitally, my voice. Working with different authors has helped attune Susie's ear to different styles of writing. In fiction particularly, prescriptivism must not stand in the way of creativity; it's a fine balance. Susie was an English lecturer for thirteen years before making the move into publishing. Her love of language and all its nuances, and the fact that she's a voracious reader, drew her to editing work. Her background in literature and language means she understands not only what makes a good narrative, but the nuts and bolts of English - the structure of language and syntax.
AJ - 2nd Editor My ex-PA, Amanda Jacobs (but we always called her AJ!) worked as my Personal Assistant for four years at Nisa-Today's and was effectively my right hand. She finds it hilarious that my spelling and grammar are unchanged from the 1990s when she used to correct all my business letters and presentations. AJ now lives in Wiltshire with her husband and daughter and works in Finance. AJ is my second main editor who looks at the story itself, suggesting changes that make it more readable and taking out the 'man words'!!
Anita Bolton - Story Line Reader Like AJ, we worked together at Nisa-Today's, although not directly. Anita served for 15 years in the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) before she married and moved to Bavaria, where she works in BMW Car Sales. Anita is always the first of my beta team to read a new book and sends me a 'heads-up' on its potential and any glaring blunders.
Laura Middleton CRM5/ITEC/PR -Storyline Reader Laura has been a dear friend for over twelve years and is an expert in reflexology, massage therapy and hypnotherapy. She gives me a lot of insight into people's minds and attitudes as well a well-balanced view of the storyline. Laura has two children and a partner who's a farmer. She is always at hand to advise me on everything from running a pub (which she has done) to the therapy arts. Laura also make sense of my writings and helps with the flow of my stories.
Cameron Deakin - Book Cover Designer Cameron is a young artist and Interior Designer. Outside of his usual work, he has helped to develop and create the covers for Two Metres Apart, The Ghosts of Rodewelle, Papi and other book covers for me. Cameron can be reached at: camerondeakin@outlook.com.
John MacNaught - Website designer John is a good friend, a fellow pilot, as well as a talented web designer. He has developed and manages all of my websites including my flying school (www.gbpom.go.uk).
