GIONNE One of the latest books to be published from Chris Dale!
Adept at horse riding and deadly accurate with a sword, farmer’s daughter Gionne is not a typical young girl.
Her imagination is fired by maths, physics and anatomy, but in 18th-century Holland, she is expected only to become a wife and homemaker.
When a body is found in a ditch … then another, accusations are made. Follow Gionne and her beau Pim as they flee Holland under a cloud of suspicion to find safe haven in the east of England.
But First Lieutenant Carl Leijtens is hot on their trail. And as the body count rises, his determination to catch his quarry deepens.
Will Pim and Gionne evade arrest and marry before Leijtens catches up? Bloody, passionate and surprising, Gionne has all you could possibly want from a novel.
GIONNE will be my last book!..In January this year, I was diagnosed with mixed dementia, which is why Gionne was a challenge to write, as I kept forgetting what the story was about despite mountains of notes. Therefore, sadly, this will be my very last book. My editor Susie Ryder certainly had her work cut out on this book, but did a fabulous job to bring it together, for which I am most grateful. She is a truly amazing editor. As is Nathan Ryder, who has design most of my book covers.
I am fine in myself and don’t think there is anything wrong with me, my long-term memory is crystal clear, but its just my short-term memory that’s fading.
I do hope you enjoy Gionne and thank you for all your support. I have had huge pleasure in writing these past 15 books and it just goes to prove what a crazy imagination I have.

Greed, jealousy and crime turn the lives of these two ordinary couples into a living hell. Would they survive? If it happened to you, what would you do?
This is a tale of the town of Bentley it's inhabitants and the annual rowing regatta, plus intrigue, blackmail and infidelities that abound.
It has the ability to see inside people's minds, causing suspicion and mayhem. It has a long history and chooses its owners. It has magical powers unknown in this world ... but what is it?
The Boy from Peru follows the tale of a ten-year-old who is taken out of an idyllic lifestyle living in his country of birth in Lima, Peru, to attend a public boarding school eight thousand miles away.
In July 2014 Chris Dale suffered a serious stroke, which forced semi-retirement, and thus he found the joy of writing, with this being his fourth book.
A tale of adventure and intrigue and a slightly sarcastic and witty observation of a train journey as seen from a disabled person's view point, and four fellow passengers.
StoreThe Boy from Peru "What a fantastic read, the pages include a bevy of intriguing characters, what a journey, well written Chris" Ian & Darel
The Boy from Peru "Didn't realise what a tough time you had at school. What a fantastic tale, but more so that it is actually true. What a tough little boy to have gone through all that between 10 and 15 years of age. A great read." John Mc
The Boy from Peru "It made me laugh and cry. What a tough time the author experienced at school and at the same time, what an adventure too, and with such bravery and ingenuity, too" Samantha
The Stroke"You can feel the pain and exhilaration of the journey to recovery, and to see both perspectives makes this a book you can't put down" Trisha Blatter
The Stroke "This is a true tale and knowing the author it has given an insight into what he and his partner went through over the year that it covers. What an exceptional, frightening experience and enlightening read. Could not put it down" Jane
The Stroke "A must read for anyone who has had a stroke or knows someone who is going through recovery. An inspiration and a good lesson on how to fight to recover from such a little-known illness. No wonder the NHS Trust wanted to publish it" Peter
The Lottery "Wow, twists and turns throughout the book with an unexpected ending. Very readable" Patricia B
The Lottery "A very well crafted book, gripping throughout and keeps you turning the pages. Loved it!" John B
Crimson Love "If you are bashful or prudish, then don't read this book. It is a fascinating tale set in a world most of us will not be familiar with and erotic scenes abound throughout the brilliant story line. Read it if you dare" Sarah
Crimson Love "What a naughty but nice fantasy tale. I could not put this book down once I got to know the characters. And it takes you on a journey to Australia and back with excitement as well as lustful scenes" Angela
Crimson Love "An erotic tale of travel and adventure. Surly it can only be a figment of the authors imagination! A good pacey read, but you can be shy or embarrassed by the naughty parts" Lisa
The Bentley Regatta "Just read Mr Dale's latest book. It was good to see some of the characters from the last two books, and what a terrific tale - again. Now he has introduced murder and blackmail into his scenes and all around a rowing regatta" Lisa
Chris Dale was born in January 1954 in Lima, Peru. He came to the UK in 1964 for a private school education, spent five years at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, and finished his education in France. He built his life skill experiences through a varied career in aviation, the travel business, and then in brand management in the food & brewery markets through the retail food industry. In 2004 he set up his own Management Consultancy business working in these markets specialising in launching and managing several different brand products. At the same time, as an aviation nut and a private pilot himself, he set up The POM Flying Club at Humberside Airport, which he still owns and runs today.
In July 2014 Chris suffered a major stroke which forced an early semi-retirement from the business world, and a total change of direction. The upside of the stroke has created his joy of writing his books, with many more to come. He now spends his time writing and managing his books as an indie author; managing his beloved flying school as a hobby, and does some voluntary work locally.
